The calculated results are estimates and do not constitute a price quote, a formal offer, or a contractual obligation on the part of MariaDB. The results are provided “AS IS” and without any warranty, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of accuracy, completeness, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. The estimated costs and savings are based on a number of assumptions as of June 2025, including product list prices, assumed typical discounts and configuration (parameters set), in particular:
User-Provided Data: The calculation is driven by the parameters you set on the calculator web page, e.g. (1) number of applications in scope, (2) percentage of applications requiring high availability, (3) average number of database servers per application, and (4) average number of database cores per server.
Product Comparison: The calculator estimates and compares the costs for: (a) MariaDB Enterprise Platform with its premium support for high availability applications and standard support for other applications, and (b) Oracle Enterprise Edition with annual support and the following add-ons: Advanced Security, Partitioning, and Advanced Compression. Savings Calculation: The savings amount represents the estimated difference between the calculated Oracle cost and the MariaDB cost for one (1) year. These calculations are based on list prices after an assumed typical discount.

This information is not provided or verified by Oracle, may not be current, and is subject to change without notice. MariaDB makes no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy of this third-party information. No affiliation, partnership, joint-venture or relationship of any kind exists between MariaDB plc and Oracle Corporation.
Scope Limitation: The estimates are strictly limited to software licensing and support costs. They do not include other critical total cost of ownership (TCO) factors such as hardware, personnel, migration services, training, or other operational costs that may significantly impact the total cost.
